Equinor has entered into an agreement with the Klesch Group – it is selling its refining business in Denmark.

The agreement covers the company Equinor Refining Denmark A/S, which consists of the Kalundborg refinery and the terminal northwest of Zealand, the Hedehusene terminal near Copenhagen, and associated infrastructure and industrial property.

“This transaction supports Equinor’s strategy to focus its portfolio on core areas. Equinor will focus its refining business on Mongstad, where the company can utilize the integrated business to develop the portfolio of low-carbon products and contribute to Equinor’s efforts in the energy transition,” Irene Rummelhoff, Executive Vice President for Marketing, Midstream, and Processing at Equinor, noted in a press release

When the transaction is completed, all employees in Equinor Refining Denmark will be transferred to the Klesch Group on similar terms of employment as in Equinor.
