Ericsson is buying Vonage for 6.2 billion dollars

The Swedish mobile phone company Ericsson is buying the American IT company Vonage for USD 6.2 billion.

The sum corresponds to around NOK 55 billion.

The goal behind the acquisition is to build a global network and communication platform for open innovation, Ericsson wrote in a press release on Monday morning.

Vonage provides cloud-based services worldwide and has over 120,000 customers and over one million registered developers.

The acquisition is expected to be completed during the first half of 2022.
