ESA approves tax benefits for small and newly established companies

onlineOnline

ESA (EFTA Surveillance Authority) approves changes to the support scheme that gives tax benefits to small and newly established companies in Norway.

Two years ago, a support scheme was introduced to enable small and newly established companies to recruit and retain employees in Norway.

The scheme is based on the fact that companies that cannot offer competitive salaries can instead give employees the opportunity to buy shares in companies at a fixed price, and that taxation can be deferred.

Norway has proposed changes to make the scheme even more efficient.

The EEA-authority ESA has now approved increasing the limit for the number of employees in companies receiving support from 10 to 12.

They have further approved a two-year extension of the scheme until 2029. At the same time, the maximum option benefit is increased from NOK 500,000 to NOK 1 million.
