Gas prices continue the sharp rise. On Wednesday, European and British prices rose by 25%.

Demand is rising sharply before winter, and there is a fear of market scarcity. In the TTF market in the Netherlands, the price rose to over 145 euros per MWh, while the price in the UK rose to over 347 pence per unit.

A broker told the news agency Reuters that the prices are “completely wild.”

Weak winds and colder weather in the forecasts are a partial explanation for the price hike. Worries related to delayed gas deliveries are also affecting the prices.
