A total of 5 percent of immigrants in this country were fully unemployed in the fourth quarter of last year. This is a decrease of 0.5 percentage points from the third quarter.

Unemployment among the general population was 1.5 percent in the fourth quarter, according to statistics from Statistics Norway (Statistics Norway).

– “It is gratifying to see that unemployment among immigrants is declining compared to the same period last year,” Minister of Education and Integration Trine Skei Grande (Liberal Party) told NTB.

At the same time, she points out that there is still a gap in the registered unemployment rate between immigrants and the rest of the population.

– “We must continue to work on this. The government has therefore submitted to the hearing a proposal for a new integration law, which aims to get more immigrants into education and jobs,” says the Minister.

The highest unemployment rate was among African immigrants, with 8.7 percent. Among immigrants from Asia, unemployment was 5.6 percent, while it was 5.3 percent among immigrants in EU countries in Eastern Europe.

Unemployment is lowest among immigrants from the Nordic countries, North America and Oceania, with 2.2 percent.

  1. What you need is to open this country to many job oppurtunies not only in specific field. There is a lot of good workers and skilled in their Different fields. Because employement helps the growth of the country if the country is welcome to changes their perspective and create more jobs oppurtunities.
