The tax authorities will send out the tax notice as planned, on several different dates. However, the reception centres at the tax offices are closed for the time being.

In addition, all telephone guidance will be provided from home offices, Skatteetaten wrote in a press release.

“We are doing this to prevent further infection of the coronavirus and at the same time ensure that the Tax Administration maintains its critical services as far as possible,” said tax director Hans Christian Holte.

The tax return will be sent out over several dates from Wednesday 18 March until Tuesday 31 March. The submission deadline is as before: April 30 for salaried employees and pensioners, and May 31 for traders. You can apply for deferral until April 30, if the situation so requires.
