Five ambulance aircraft out of service

Five of Babcock’s new ambulance aircraft have been taken out of service after technical irregularities. With six operational aircraft, this means that the service is almost halved.

“Safety always comes first, and we have therefore decided to keep the five aircraft that have experienced irregularities on the ground until we have had a technical review of them,” says head of flight operations Hans Skog-Andersen at Babcock.

“We have also, for safety reasons, implemented compensatory measures to have greater safety margins than normal for the other aircraft. We are now working intensively to get all the planes back into normal production,” he says.

The aerospace plant has been called in to assist in finding the cause of the irregularities.
