Widerøe will offer all flight routes in Northern Norway from April 1, 2022, except for the one between Lakselv and Tromsø, which will be offered by Danish DAT.

“Due to long distances, Northern Norway is a part of the country that is particularly dependent on aviation.

“Despite the fact that we have had a short time to plan the tender and that the pandemic creates uncertain times, we are happy to put in place new agreements for the next two years,” Minister of Transport Jon-Ivar Nygård (AP) noted in a press release.

The tender competition for regional flights in Northern Norway was announced in 2021, and companies in all EU/EEA countries were invited to submit tender bids for the operation of a total of 14 areas from April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2024.
