The biggest players in the Norwegian food industry have in recent years invested 15 billion NOK in new facilities and technology.
In the period 2011-2015, the four largest companies in agriculture-based food industry invested nearly 15.2 billion kroner in Norway,  Nationen reports.
The largest investments  have been made by Tine, who has invested almost 7 billion, while Nortura and Felleskjøpet Agri have invested  3.5 and 2.1 billion respectively. Orkla ASA’s investments in Norway in the last five years has been 2.7 billion.
Communications Director in  Orkla Foods Dag Olav Stokken said the company is investing in order to become more competitive.
– We need to have an efficient production structure and simultaneously develop new technology, he says to the newspaper.
Executive Director Kjell Rakkenes Nortura said the company would like to have more money to invest.
