From a health crisis to a financial crisis for Oslo

City Councilor Raymond Johansen is satisfied with the control of the spread of infection in Oslo, but now warns of a protracted economic crisis.

– “It has been demanding, but our city is starting to resemble itself,” says Johansen about the reopening of Oslo after months of Coronavirus restrictions and measures.

Oslo is the county in Norway with the highest unemployment. Now Johansen says he expects unemployment to go down, but the danger is high that it will be long before it will be on par with pre-crisis.

– “We are now moving from a health crisis to an economic crisis with high unemployment,” says the city council leader.
