Seven funeral homes have received a total of NOK 200,000 in compensation support during the corona pandemic. An agency in Agder has had less to do in 40 years.

According to Dagens Næringsliv, Landes Begravelsesbyrå in Lyngdal is among those who have received support. General manager Erik Lande talks about a decrease in turnover of almost 40 percent.

– I have checked in our archives which go back 40 years. We have never had so few funerals in April as we had this year. When Norway was virtually shut down to prevent Coronavirus infection, the spread of other viruses also stopped. We do not want people to die, but help the relatives when someone passes away, says Lande.
