The manager of the Oslo airport on Gardermoen is open to creating an own terminal for low-price companies and would like to have operators like Ryanair there.

According to the newspaper Dagens Næringsliv, the much discussed and temporary gate 19 might become a low price terminal in a few months.

– This terminal can take away two million passengers in a year, says airport manager Øyvind Hassas.

OSL currently has construction work in it and the airport will have a capacity of 32 million passengers yearly when “Pir nord” is done, in April next year.

He points to Kastrup in København, which opened the low price terminal in 2010. Ryanair uses this one and the Irish low-price company is now the third largest operator on Kastrup, after SAS and Norwegian.
