British Go-Ahead, which will operate the Sørlandsbanen, has signed an agreement with state Mantena on the maintenance of the trains. The agreement is valid for eight years.

Mantena is owned by the Ministry of Transport and will for the next eight years be the total supplier for the maintenance of the trains on the Sørlandsbanen.

Go-Ahead will take over the operation on December 15 and rename the railway routes, which today are called the Sørlandsbanen, Jærbanen and Arendalsbanen, to the Sørtoget.

– “We are proud and pleased with the agreement with Go-Ahead, which confirms Mantena’s position in the market as a leading player in the development of the Norwegian rail sector,” says Kjetil Hovland, CEO of Mantena AS.
