The government propose increased taxes on diesel by 35 øre, and gasoline taxes by 15 øre. The proposal was submitted by Council on Friday.

According to NRK news, the four cooperating parties still disagree on the overall package that will make up the so-called green tax shift when the state budget is presented next week.

To address drivers’ situations it will be proposed that there be reduced annual fees, a reduction in tolls and an increase in commuter allowance, news agency NTB confirmed.

NTB sources state that this sum will mean that motorists are overcompensated by several hundred million kroner.
