Green Yard Group takes over Kleven shipyard in Ulsteinvik. The new owners are focusing on continuing shipbuilding at the yard.

It was in a press release sent out late Monday night that the company states that they had reached an agreement with the bankruptcy estate and the banks and thus take over the bankrupt yard.

The new name of the yard will be Green Yard Kleven, it is stated in the press release.

In addition to continuing the yard part itself, the new owners will also focus on developing operations into new business areas.

Green Yard Group is one of the country’s leading companies in the recycling of ships and rigs as well as the recycling of iron and metals and is located in Fedafjord in Kvinesdal in Agder.

Trustee Bjørn Åge Hamre told NRK, Monday night that the agreement on further operations was very close.

A little over a week ago came the news that the yard, which dates back almost a hundred years, had gone bankrupt. On Tuesday last week, all 400 employees were laid off.
