Fortune Magazine has named Hydro’s CEO, Hilde Aasheim, the world’s 13th most powerful woman in business.

Aasheim took over as CEO of Norsk Hydro on May 8 this year. She is the only female top leader in Norway’s ten largest companies.

Aasheim is now voted the 13th most powerful businesswoman in the world by the American magazine Fortune Magazine. The justification emphasizes, among other things, the CEO’s green initiatives.

The Norwegian aluminum producer employs 35,000 people in 40 countries. Aasheim has taken the opportunity to promote sustainability, with ambitions to make the company a leader in reducing the environmental impact of metals, the magazine’s description states.
