Ikea Norway will cut 10 percent of costs and so they will be closing their service centers in Tromsø, Ålesund and Skøyen in Oslo.
“We will close all service centers in Norway. We consider it a tough decision, because we have never closed anything before, says Ikea’s Norwegian chief Clare Rodgers to Dagens Næringsliv.
The 50 employees affected by the closure are offered jobs elsewhere in the Ikea system.
At Ikea’s service centers it was possible to see the products assembled and to order, for example, kitchens, but customers were not able to purchase and take home the products as you can in traditional stores.
