Ikea is postponing construction of three new stores in Vestby in Akershus, Danebuåsen in Vestfold and Forus in Rogaland.
Ikea has decided to invest in existing operations rather than expand into new areas, on the basis of changes in market and customer purchasing patterns, said the newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad.
The furniture giant had planned to build new stores in Vestby, Danebuåsen and at Forus, but has now postponed the construction indefinitely.
– Because we were waiting to develope a new automated concept, and get it put into operation without teething problems, it is impossible to pinpoint its inception, says warehouse manager Hans Inge Skadberg.
