The calculations for claims apply to all insurance companies. The mild weather in many places throughout the country has made the frost damage visible, Gjensidige wrote in a press release.

“Several hundred damage reports have already been registered from cabin owners, and in the near future, we expect a major influx (of claims),” communications manager Bjarne Rysstad in Gjensidige noted.

He believes many cabin owners, among them thousands who have traveled to the mountains, can expect problems with frozen water pipes.
