The hackers who are said to have attacked the sports equipment chain Intersport’s online store are placed on the ‘worst list’ by the IT magazine Wired.

Intersport announced on Wednesday that customers’ payment information has gone astray after a computer attack. Hackers who carry out this type of attack go under the umbrella term “Magecart”, writes E24.

The IT magazine Wired has previously placed Magecart on the list of the “most dangerous people on the internet”. On the same list are Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In 2018, the hackers were linked to an attack on British Airways, where the payment information from around 380,000 customers was stolen.

The attack on Intersport is linked to check-out from the online store Intersport.no, probably in parts of the period 17 April to 18 June this year.

Customers who have shopped on the online store during that period are asked to check bank statements and immediately contact their bank if they discover anything suspicious.
