ISS has notified the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV) that it is laying off 1,000 people. However, the company emphasizes that the process is not complete.
“The process has not been completed and we are not yet completely sure of the exact number we have to downsize.
“However, we can confirm that the number will, unfortunately, be significant,” communications director Ronny Pettersen wrote in an email to the business website E24.
“This is very tragic,” union secretary Trine Wiig Hagen in the Norwegian Workers’ Union, which organizes around 2,000 cleaning workers in the ISS, noted.
