Johan Sverdrup is in production
Production at the Johan Sverdup field started on Saturday, two months earlier than planned.
“Johan Sverdrup’s production start is a milestone for Equinor, our partners and suppliers. When the field reaches peak production, it will account for around one-third of all oil production in Norway and deliver very valuable barrels of record-low emissions,” says Equinor’s CEO Eldar Sætre.
Johan Sverdrup is expected to provide production revenues of more than NOK 1,400 billion, of which more than NOK 900 billion is for the Norwegian state and society.
