Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Møre og Romsdal has declared bankruptcy. And according to Sunmørsposten the employees were told on Friday.

In January it became known that the Croatian industry group DIV had signed an agreement with Hurtigruten to buy the shipyard.

It was reported that this weekend, three creditors terminated the agreement with the shipyard and that the company would be bankrupt if they couldn’t find a solution.

It was a group of Norwegian banks, together with Innovasjon Norge, and Geik who made the decision.

The owner of DIV group, Tomislav Debeljak, wrote a letter at the end of last week where bankruptcy must be considered as an alternative if no agreement is reached by Wednesday, July 1st.

Both shipyards and its subsidiary accounts will be frozen after the creditors terminate the agreement.
