Shortly before the fighter aircraft F-35 becomes operational in Norway, the commander of the Air Force reports that there is a fault with the brake screen.

The problems do not affect the plans to make use of the aircraft by the end of the year, the Air Force tells TV 2.

In an interview with the US military magazine Defense News, Major General Tonje Skinnarland says that the specially developed screen does not work properly, and that it is important to have it fixed before the winter of 2020/2021.

This week the Major General has visited Naval Air Station Jacksonville in the US, where Norwegian personnel are trained to use the new P-8 Poseidon surveillance aircraft.

At Ørland’s main air station, the Air Force has a squadron of 15 F-35A aircraft which is scheduled to be operational during 2019.
