More people come to Norway to work

The government has relaxed the rules for who is allowed to enter the country. It allows more Europeans to come and work.

From March 16, the rule has been that foreigners without a residence permit must be expelled for reasons of public health. Two weeks later this was eased for workers in some industries, especially agriculture. But as of Thursday, more EEA citizens will come to work in this country.

They are no longer required to be employed in an industry where there is a critical need for labor. Nor should they have started work in Norway before the entry restrictions were introduced. But the quarantine rules will still apply to those who come to work, the government states.
