The Coronavirus crisis and low interest rates has gotten several people to look into buying cabins in the mountains. A Geilo broker reports an 80 percent increase in sales.

To Dagens Næringsliv, general manager Jannike Seljevoll Herleiksplats at Privatmegleren Herleiksplats & Partners says that in her 16 years in the industry she has never seen anything like it.

– May, June and July tend to be vacation time for us, but this year it has been scaled down to a minimum because we must have as many brokers on duty as possible, she says.

Broker Håkon Øvergård at DNB Eiendom in Hamar says what he has experienced this year cannot be compared to previous years.

– “There has been constant interest at all times with both sales and interest from people. I don’t think we will experience this again should everything go back to normal,” says Øvergård to DN.
