According to NAV Oslo, the easing of some of the infection control measures has had little effect on the unemployment figures. The figures are unchanged compared to last week.

“The introduction of the national alcohol-serving ban in mid-December led to many employees in restaurants, bars, and nightlife venues being laid off. The easing of infection control measures will lead to many of these returning to work in these industries. However, we see a small effect of this (note: the relief) on the unemployment figures this week,” acting director Thone M. Nordlund at NAV Oslo stated.

A total of 19,783 people have now been registered as completely or partially unemployed at the NAV in Oslo, which is 56 people fewer than at the same time last week.

A small decrease in the number of fully unemployed people has been registered. At the same time, a slight increase in the number of partially unemployed has been registered.

Oslo is the county with the highest proportion of completely and partially unemployed people. In total, 3.7% of the labor force in the capital is listed as completely unemployed.
