For the time being, Nav will no longer send its users to work placements at the XXL sports chain. Nav requires “necessary measures and routines” to resume practice.

The reason why Nav is now freezing its national collaboration with XXL is the chain’s own investigation report in December. It revealed price cheats, unpaid work, and disciplinary punitive reactions, writes E24.

“The changes are that we will temporarily not appoint candidates for positions in XXL, nor create new work placements at XXL until the company has taken the necessary measures and routines related to its internal work environment,” writes Nav employment and services director Kjell Hugvik to the finance website.

XXL has respect for Nav’s decision, according to acting press contact Marte Ramuz Eriksen. She emphasizes that the chain cooperates with Nav and the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority (Arbeidstilsynet) and that the dialogue is good.

“XXL is working to answer the questions Arbeidstilsynet and Nav have, and the goal is to resume the cooperation as soon as possible so that even more people can be helped back to working life.”
