New electric buses from Vy to Møre og Romsdal
Ten electric buses from Vy will be commissioned in Ålesund, Giske, Sula and Skodje in Møre og Romsdal from 1 January 2021.
This is stated by ABB, who is responsible for the charging solution of the buses.
According to Møre and Romsdal county municipalities, the electric buses must run a total of at least 750,000 km annually. The reduction in emissions corresponds to emissions from 420 fossil-fueled cars.
The buses must be prioritized at traffic lights and thus get green light faster. Automatic passenger counting is also installed, and it records where customers get on and off the bus.
– “This will make it easier to plan where and when extra capacity must be put into the routes,” it says.
