New analyses from Gassco show that it may be profitable to develop a gas pipeline to the Barents Sea.
Development will be socio- economically viable in relation to the resources already proven in the southern Barents Sea, according to Gassco, who on Monday submitted their report to the Oil and Energy Minister Sylvi Listhaug (Frp).
In the analysis, Gassco has looked at both gas pipelines and increased LNG capacity at Melkøya as alternatives for increasing transport capacity. Both alternatives are considered profitable.
