E6 Kolomoen-Moelv will be partially opened as soon as 2018, according to “Nye Veier” (New Roads), the company the government has established to accelerate road construction.
Several other roads are also coming along well.
The company Nye Veier was established in May 2015 and was operational as of January 1st this year. The goal is to plan, build and operate roads faster and more cost effectively.
And the company is on track, says CEO Ingrid Dahl Hovland to newspaper Dagsavisen.
She mentions E6 Kolomoen-Moelv as an example. The road will be partially opened in 2018, while the National Transport Plan (NTP) plans were to open in 2023 or later.
– We have established three road construction agreements with the Ministry of Transport, for a total development of NOK 19 billion.
Three toll propositions for the affected routes were approved in Parliament in the spring of this year. Overall this is approximately 19 kilometers of highway with road openings in 2018, 2019 and 2020, says Hovland.
