The first of SAS’s new long-haul Airbus A350 aircraft has now become part of the fleet. In total, SAS will have eight new aircraft of the same type.

From January 28th, the new long-haul aircraft will begin service and will be based in Copenhagen. The routes go to major cities Chicago, Beijing, New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong and San Francisco in the first year.

The new aircraft is more environmentally friendly. It has 30 percent lower carbon emissions compared to its predecessor due to lower fuel consumption. The aircraft also emits significantly less noise.

The aircraft has been named Ingegerd Viking and can seat 300 passengers. A total of eight new Airbus A350 will be part of the SAS fleet.
