Activity in the business sector has increased in recent months, and companies believe that the easing of the corona measures will lead to significant growth in the next six months, according to Norges Bank.

Across all industries, Norwegian companies see a brighter future, Norges Bank’s quarterly report from the central bank’s regional network shows. A total of more than 1,500 companies contribute to the report during the year.

Companies are now more optimistic than in February.

Industrial companies and companies that sell services to the business community in particular reported increased activity, Norges Bank pointed out.

However, turnover in the retail trade and the construction industry has fallen. In the other industries, the level of activity has not changed much since February.

In recent months, the companies contributing to the report registered a higher number of employees. The companies believe they will employ even more in the next three months since they expect high economic activity in the future.

They also believe in higher wage growth. The estimate for annual wage growth this year has been raised to 2.7%, from 2.3% in February.
