Norway contributes over NOK 3 billion to measures for sustainable marine management. – All countries must contribute more, says Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H).

Included in this amount is NOK 2.3 billion for ENOVA to develop Equinor’s floating offshore wind farm Hywind Tampen, a measure announced earlier this year.

The money will come in the period 2020 – 2024, and the measures will be announced during the Our Ocean Conference, which begins in Oslo on Wednesday. It brings together 500 leaders and 100 youth representatives from around 100 countries.

Prime Minister Erna Solberg is the keynote speaker at the conference.

– We must both protect the sea from pollution and facilitate continued food and energy production from the sea. It is only through sustainable management of the marine areas and by using new technology that we will succeed in creating new jobs and industries. All countries must contribute more, and Norway will step up efforts both nationally and internationally, says Solberg.
