Norway registered fewer bankruptcies in the third quarter of 2020

A total of 800 bankruptcies were registered in Norway in the third quarter of 2020. That is a decrease from 1,116 bankruptcies at the same time last year.

Out of the 800 bankruptcies, 730 are corporate bankruptcies, while 70 are personal bankruptcies.

There were 220 bankruptcies in construction and 167 bankruptcies in the retail trade and repair of motor vehicles.

Most bankruptcies were registered in Oslo and Viken.

Compared with the third quarter of 2019, there were fewer open bankruptcies in the third quarter of 2020. 

Also, there are fewer bankruptcies overall this year than at the same time in 2019.
