Unemployment in Norway fell to 2.9% in March, down 0.4% from December. That is the lowest level in 14 years, according to Statistics Norway (SSB).

On Wednesday, seasonally adjusted figures from Statistics Norway’s (SSB) labor force survey were published.

From December last year to March this year, 10,000 fewer unemployed people were registered. According to Statistics Norway, the unemployment level hasn’t been lower since 2008.

“Ever since last summer, unemployment has fallen sharply. At the same time, the increase in employment has been greater than the decline in unemployment, which means that the labor force has increased. We thus see that there is very high activity in the labor market now,” section manager Tonje Køber at Statistics Norway stated.
