The Norwegian government will provide an additional NOK 700 million to the state fund Nysnø, which invests in climate technology.
Minister of Trade and Industry Iselin Nybø (V) revealed the news when she visited Nysnø in Stavanger on Monday, according to newspaper Dagens Næringsliv (DN).
“That means that Nysnø can invest in more companies that develop new, climate-friendly technology so that we keep up the pace of the green shift,” Nybø told news bureau NTB.
“This money will be very important for us. In the wake of the corona pandemic, it is more important than ever that we manage to keep up the pace of investment,” Siri Kalvig, CEO of Nysnø, said.
The fund has already received NOK 1.7 billion.
