Equinor will employ close to 2,000 new employees globally this year. That is a doubling compared to 2021.

The majority of new hires will be employed in Norway, as the company wants to support the growth in renewable energy and oil and gas, Stavanger Aftenblad / E24 writes.

“These are very exciting times in the energy industry and for Equinor. We are in the middle of an energy transition and want to help secure energy with lower emissions. Over the next three decades, the energy systems must be completely changed,” Karen Vorraa, who leads the recruitment efforts at Equinor, stated.

In addition, the oil giant has a backlog after recruitment freezes due to the corona pandemic, and a change in generations is underway.

“The majority of additional staff is needed in Norway, but there will be a need for increased staffing at all our locations, also internationally – mainly Brazil, Great Britain, USA, and Asia,” Vorraa said.
