SAS has won Norway’s largest customer contract – the agreement with the Armed Forces. Norwegian complains about the decision, reports Dagens Næringsliv.

Norwegian has had a flight agreement with the Armed Forces since 2008 and during that period has largely been the only airline that has had regular routes to and from Bardufoss. But now SAS has hijacked the agreement for the next four years, according to the newspaper.

The agreement is the largest airline contract in Norway and an important part of Norway’s customer base on air routes between Northern and Southern Norway.

According to DN, on Friday morning Norwegian had withdrawn all departures from Bardufoss to Oslo as of the end of March 2020 in its booking system. However, sources inform the newspaper that the airline has started a complaint on the decision.

However, this will not confirm the company.

“It is the Armed Forces that have announced tenders, so they have to respond to this,” says Norwegian Information Director Lasse Sandaker-Nielsen.

The defense department tells the newspaper that they do not want to comment on an ongoing complaint process where the parties can make comments.
