The Norwegian Consumer Agency informed airlines that they must refund canceled flights purchased through booking companies and other intermediaries.

Several passengers have recently contacted the Agency after they have experienced problems demanding and receiving reimbursement for canceled flights.

These passengers had purchased tickets through intermediaries or agents, such as travel agencies, booking companies, or websites that arrange flights.

“Consumers who experience delays or lack of reimbursement from travel agencies and intermediaries can direct the claim these from the airline,” department director Jo Gjedrem at the Norwegian Consumer Agency said in a press release.

The Norwegian Consumer Agency has raised the issue with SAS, Widerøe, and Norwegian, which will provide information on passengers’ rights on their websites.

According to the relevant regulations, passengers are entitled to a refund of the entire ticket price when the aircraft is canceled.
