Norwegians still pay more for mobile data than Swedes, Danes, and Finns, despite the fact that Norwegian mobile users have by far the lowest consumption in the Nordic region, according to a new report on mobile prices in the Nordic countries.

In other words, Norwegian mobile customers still pay the most and get the least in return.

The Norwegian government now wants to facilitate good and affordable mobile and broadband services throughout the country. Well-functioning competition and freedom of choice are a prerequisite for this, Minister of Local Government and District Affairs Sigbjørn Gjelsvik (SP) said on Friday.

The report is one of two that his Ministry has commissioned on Norwegian mobile and broadband prices, prepared by the consulting company Tefficient.

It shows that Norwegian end users pay on average two to five times more per gigabyte of data compared to Swedish, Danish, and Finnish end users.
