Norwegian postpones deadline for payment of passenger tax

Many Norwegian customers reacted to the short period they had to pay air passenger tax introduced on June 1st. Now the company exposes the payment deadline.
– It’s still a holiday for many travelers, so therefore we have decided to postpone the payment deadline by one week, said by communications director Lasse Sandakerveien-Nielsen in Norwegian to newspaper Aftenposten.
It was in June that several travelers, who had booked and paid for their trips before tax was a fact, received a demand of 80 to 88 million NOK on email from Norwegian. Initially customers were a little over one month to pay, with a deadline of 1 August.
Sandaker-Nielsen said to the newspaper that “hundreds of thousands” have paid, but will not provide any more precise figures or say how many who have not yet paid.
