More than 1.6 million people flew with Norwegian in May. That is an increase of 16% from last month.

“Despite capacity challenges at some airports, we carried out close to 100% of the 400 daily flights we have set up, and with a high degree of punctuality,” Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian, noted in a press release.

Punctuality, which means that departure takes place within 15 minutes of the regular departure time, amounted to 84.9% in May. This is an increase of 2.3% from April, the company stated.

“We are fast approaching the high season and continue the planned increase in the route program to meet demand,” Karlsen added.

Norwegian states that they had 1,628,040 passengers in May this year, compared with 96,909 in the same month in the corona year of 2021.
