Norwegian seafood exports for the first six months of 201​6

Norway exported seafood worth NOK 42.6 billion in the first six months of 2016. This is an increase of 25 per cent or NOK 8.6 billion when measured against the first six months of 2015.

Seafood worth NOK 7.1 billion was exported in June. This is an increase of 22 per cent or NOK 1.3 billion compared with June of last year.

NOK 27.9 billion worth of salmon was exported in the first six months. This is an increase of 28 per cent or NOK 6.2 billion when measured against the first six months of 2015. The average price for fresh whole Norwegian salmon in June was NOK 65.43, per kg versus NOK 40.85 per kg in June of last year.

Norway exported trout worth NOK 1.9 billion in the first six months. This is an increase of 103 per cent or NOK 978 million from the first six months of last year. NOK 348 million of trout was exported in June. This is an increase of 79 per cent or NOK 154 million compared with June of last year. The largest purchasers of trout from Norway were Belarus and Japan.
