Only two days before the European Space Agency ESA hold its ministerial meeting in Switzerland and Norway has decided to maintain its participation.

– Surprisingly pleased, says NIFRO leader Eline Oftedal.

The government had envisaged a cut in Norwegian participation at 75 percent but according to the trade organization for Norwegian space activities, NIFRO, worked with the opposition in parliament hard to find a solution to ensure a continuation of its participation at the current level.

– The opposition has been solution-oriented and creative to get a decision in Parliament before the ESA ministerial meeting. Government parties endorsing the decision is a welcome surprise, says Eline Oftedal, CEO of NIFRO.

NAMMO Raufoss, Kongsberg Gruppen, IDEAS AS and Science & Technology are just some of the many businesses in Norway which have Europe and ESA as their main market for products and technology for space activities.
