In 2020, the year of the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of about NOK 12.3 billion will be paid in road tolls, according to estimates from the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

That is a new record – for the eleventh consecutive year.

“Preliminary figures for 2020 show that the toll revenues amount to about NOK 12.3 billion (2020 price level),” the Ministry of Transport and Communications revealed.

The amount is said to include estimates of paid surcharges.

New records

In the government’s recent budget proposal, it appears that a new record for road toll payments was also set last year.

In 2019, a total of NOK 12.1 billion was paid for tolls.

A new record has been set for tolls paid each year since 2010, according to the figures.
