In its revised national budget, the Norwegian government proposes to set the low VAT rate back to 12% from October 1, according to news bureau NTB.

The low VAT rate has been reduced from 12% to 6% during the corona pandemic. The rate applies to culture, transport, and tourism.

According to NTB, in the revised national budget, the government wants to propose setting the rate back to 12% from October 1, 2021.

The government apparently believes that it would serve no purpose to extend the reduced rate further after the population has been vaccinated, and society reopens, NTB reports.
