A new overview from the Ministry of Trade and Industry shows that 1 in 5 Norwegian enterprises have received financial assistance in 2020. A total of more than 43,000 enterprises have received contributions during the corona crisis.

The figures were revealed on Thursday by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

StatBank Norway will provide an ongoing overview of how the business community has used support schemes through the coronavirus crisis.

So far this year, more than 43,000 unique enterprises have received contributions from the business-oriented policy instruments and the compensation scheme through the Tax Administration.

“Significant support”

Additionally, 60,900 companies have used the reimbursement and / or redundancy scheme through the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV).

Most have not received support from the policy instruments before.

“The figures show that the private sector has received significant support so far in 2020 and that the government’s measures widely covered business and industry (in Norway),” Minister of Trade and Industry Iselin Nybø (V) noted.
