Police have uncovered illegal king crabbing networks

Police in Finnmark, in collaboration with Økokrim, have uncovered a network that has captured and traded king crab illegally across the country, police say.

“This is king crab with a turnover value of several million kroner that is caught and traded illegally,” they write in a press release.

The police informed about the case at a press conference at the police station in Kirkenes at 2 p.m.

At Fisketorget in Bergen, the king crab cost NOK 999 per kilo this spring.
