Price changes in several thousand Vinmonopolet

From the 1st of January, Vinmonopolet will reduce the price of over 6,000 items. But for over 10,000 items, the price increases.

The biggest price cut is on Scottish whiskey Gordon & MacPhail Aberfeldy Connoisseurs Choice. The price is more than halved from NOK 4,038 to NOK 1,990.

For most items, the changes are far less. On average, prices are reduced by NOK 18.72 for the 6,077 items that there is a fall in price, according to a spreadsheet NTB has received from Vinmonopolet.

The biggest price jump is on the French red wine Ch. Cheval-Blanc and the brandy Hennessy Paradis, both of which will be NOK 2,000 more expensive after the New Year and will cost NOK 9,999 and NOK 21,000 respectively.

The 11,524 items that their prices are to go up will on an average of NOK 16.28.

The wholesalers who supply Vinmonopolet have the opportunity to adjust the price of their goods a number of times during the year, including at the turn of the year. The New Year will also include additionally tax changes, and therefore expect to see more changes in the prices in the months to come.
